SociallyGood is a community networking event presented by Leadership Broward Foundation and it’s open to everyone! Each month SociallyGood will feature a nonprofit partner who will receive 100% of the proceeds from all SociallyGood guest fees collected from that evening.
This month we present Hispanic Unity of Florida as our partner nonprofit. One drink will be included with the price of admission. All proceeds collected that evening go back to Hispanic Unity of Florida.
Leadership Broward Foundation cares about our community and we are continually seeking ways to be a stronger agent for change. Our mission is to develop and inspire individuals to serve our community.
Please join us monthly, as we network with our supporters and friends and introduce them to some of the amazing work that is being performed by local nonprofits in our community today.
Our Nonprofit Partner this month is:
Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) is a non-profit founded 37 years ago by community leaders to ease the acculturation transition for newcomers from other nations. Today, HUF has grown to serve diverse and multi-cultural working families from the United States as well as more than 25 other countries. We provide a range of wrap-around services to help more than 18,000 clients of all ages, from preschoolers to adults, successfully transition to a productive new life.
HUF offers 12 programs and services in four languages – English, Spanish, Haitian Creole and Sign Language.
South Florida’s unique geographic location has made it a popular destination for the Caribbean and Latin American immigrants, as well as others from throughout the world. Often arriving with little more than the clothes on their backs, a few dollars in pocket change, with no job, language, skills or understanding of the life that awaits them on America’s shores – they still come with hopes and dreams. Hispanic Unity of Florida is proud and grateful to be South Florida’s “Ellis Island” for new immigrants arriving in South Florida.
Tickets are not available as this event has passed.
